Homesteader’s Refresh Drink

If you are a homesteader, or have outdoor animals, a garden or even just a yard you put time into, odds are you have spent long hours in the summer sun and heat working.

I have been prone to headaches when I over exert myself, or spend too much time in the sun and water just doesn’t cut it at a certain point. And yes I could drink a sports drink, but those are full of crap and processed sugar and they really don’t make me feel very good.

So whether you are pulling weeds, baling hay and mucking stalls (or just hanging out and watching your chickens 😉 ) this drink is refreshing, thirst quenching and will help rehydrate you and replenish your electrolytes. Plus it tastes awesome!

[time=“1 minute”] [difficulty=“Easy”]

  • 500ml cold water (flat or sparkling)
  • 2 tsp raw apple cider vinegar
  • Maple syrup to taste
  • Dash of sea salt

Mix everything in a drinking glass or mason jar and serve over ice.
